Trip Summary

We had one week to spend in New Zealand, so we decided to just explore the North Island. Hopefully we'll get a chance to see the South Island in the next few years! We thought about hiring a campervan, but the promise of a full size bed, a decent shower in the morning, and room to spread out our clothes, etc, convinced us that hotels were the way to go.

We hired a new RAV4, which was a great little car - zippy yet economical, and plenty of room for our luggage. Starting in Auckland, we worked our way down to Wellington, and we sure managed to cram a lot in along the way. The map below shows our route (in blue) and has links to more information (and photos!).
